The Harmonized System (HS) is the international product nomenclature used by customs worldwide. The first 6 digits are global; the EU extends them to 8-digit CN (Combined Nomenclature) codes, which determine your import duty rate, VAT treatment and any trade measures like anti-dumping duties.
